What to Bring

ALABGS Dress Code

Sunday - Opening Convocation: Casual

Monday - School Pride Day

Tuesday - Political Party Day: You will receive a t-shirt for your political party

Wednesday - Red, White, & Blue Day

Thursday AM - Future College or Career 

Thursday PM - Inaugural: dressy attire.

Friday - Travel Day: Causual

General Guidelines:

  • If you plan on running for statewide office (such as Governor, Supreme Court Justice, etc) or are interested in Girls Nation, it is encouraged that your bring at least one business casual /dressier outfit for interviews and campaigning on stage.

  • Jeans and shorts should be free of excessive tears and holes.

  • Skirts, dresses and shorts must cover the entire buttocks area.

  • Capris and leggings are acceptable.

Casual Definition:​

Yes: leggings, shorts, jeans, t-shirts

  • T-shirts should be appropriate, with no offensive language or graphics. 

No: pajama pants/tops outside of bedtime, athletic shorts (except for Physical Activity), bare midriffs, low back, excessive cleavage 

Business Casual Definition:​

Yes: Khakis, capris, nice jeans, dress pants or skirts and a nice top.

No: Athleisure wear, shorts, t-shirts

Other items to bring:

  • Comfortable shoes

  • Toiletries

  • Towels

  • Washcloth

  • Shower shoes

  • Shower caddy

  • Waterbottle

  • Pens, pencils, highlighters

  • Clothes hangers

  • Raincoat or umbrella

  • Fan (Delegate rooms are air-conditioned) 

  • If you have them, navy pants, white collared shirt, white shoes.

  • Interest group items (you will find out your interest group the first week in June)

Optional items to bring:

  • Bedding (a set is provided by university)

  • Money to spend in the store

  • Cash money for professional photos

  • Snacks

  • Pennies or other loose change for PENNY WARS!

  • Non-perishable food item or toiletries to donate: Here is a list the Oshkosh Area Food Pantry needs the most of:

    • Canned Meats – Chicken, tuna, etc.

    • Canned Vegetables – Carrots, potatoes, etc.

    • Canned Fruit – Pears, Mandarin oranges, etc.

    • Canned Soups – Chicken noodle, chili, etc.

    • Cream Canned Soups – Cream of chicken, celery, mushroom, etc.

    • Prepared Meals – Ricearoni, pastaroni, etc.

    • Grains – Rice, quinoa, whole grain pasta, etc.

    • Condiments – Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, salad dressings, etc.

    • Fresh Produce – Fresh fruits and vegetables

    • Personal Hygiene – Toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, etc.
